Vilfredo Federico Damaso Pareto, the progenitor of the 80/20 rule, was born in Italy in 1848.

What our good friend Vilfredo noticed was an uneven distribution pattern.

Initially, he observed that 20% of the peas in his garden produced 80% of the harvest. And he went on to investigate other areas and industries and found a similar distribution pattern.
